What Causes Back Pain On The Right Side?

I am 61, diabetic. About two weeks ago I started feeling a pain in the middle of my back. Mostly on the right side. Worse when I sit down in the car, or go to lay down. Sometimes when I walk. The pain is not constant. I have taken three ibuprofen on a couple of days and that seems to help. I don t know if it is connected but today I started to have cramps and multiple bowel movements. This is a bit unusual for me. Also my appetite has seemed to come and go.

Hello,

Back pain may be due to back muscles spasm or lumbar spondylosis or kidney stones or infection or prolapsed intervertebral disc etc.
Avoid driving or motor bike riding for a few days. use back support belt during walking. Cold compression and pain killer medication is useful.
If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor, he will take X-ray of lumbar spine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
