What Causes Back Pain Radiating Towards Hip And Pelvis Inspite Of Taking Lyrica And Ketamine?
Hello . My mother is suffering from excruciating Back pain radiating down her left hip pelvis and down to ankle. Absolutely no combination of pain killers are even helping. 600 lyrica daily, 75 Keral daily, amitriptalline 30 , ketamine 10 three times daily. Palexia SR100 twice daily and 50 to 100 as required which she ends up taking twice a day . I am at my wits end please please help
The severely intense pain over lower back radiating to hip and pelvis indicate possible neuralgia of severe intensity not responding to best of the analgesic as ketamine and lyrica. There are various measures available for such pain control as - Epidural analgesia, in which anesthetic put epidural catheter in her vertebra and fixed dose of analgesic drugs are delivered through the port as per the requirement of condition - Key hole surgery in proven cases of severe spinal canal stenosis not responding to any means of therapy.
However, if you can provide me her MRI plates or other reports, further guidelines can be figured out accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
