Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past few months I have been having neck/back pain and headaches. The headaches started off as tension-like headaches but they have transpired into sharp headaches. My back hurts all the time, same as my neck. The top of my spine sticks out a lot more than it used to... I have never been a person who suffered from headaches before. It freaks me out because I don t know if it s just normal pain or if it s something else. Any idea what it could be?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Headache and back pain if both started at a time means then there's is a possibility of viral fever or infections or both are different entities like cervical or lumbar muscle spasm or spondylosis or radiculopathy, etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. You need to get it done X-ray cervical spine and X-ray of lumbar spine and get treated accordingly. Take care.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
