What Causes Backache On The Left Side?

I ve had left back pain that radiate to my left side since April. Constant pain, can only walk a few steps then much sit or lay down. Percocet has been minimally effective. Have had a CAT Scan of area which is neg for any thing - doc feels it s probably stenosis. Having MRI on Thurs June 22. What are your thoughts or is it too soon?

Hi,

Yes, its a typical history of spinal stenosis. In spinal stenosis the gape between the spine is narrow through which the nerves exit and hence causing pain. MRI is the investigation of choice and would probably explain every thing.

I think we need to wait till the MRI report is in hand. Don't worry most of the times its not an emergency though the treatment is not a simple one, and may include pain killer, physiotherapy, and some times surgery.
