I have a had a bad odor for a few months now it started out like a fishy smell now it smells like something is dead im so embarrassed by this an its getting worse..I do have an iud an also been diagnosed with mild dysplasia..what could be causing this odor I really hate it
Bad body odor in the vagina is commonly due to Vaginitis, it can be caused by bacterial infection, yeast infection or sexually transmitted infection (STI) called trichomoniasis or UTI. You are suggested to take care of your hygiene, bathe regularly. Change clothes daily. Wear soft cotton clothes. Avoid douching the vagina, do not use harsh soaps or chemicals. Avoid sex for a couple of days.
Do not indulge in multiple partners. Use non latex condom. You can take a course of Metronidazole orally. Apply clindamycin cream or metrogel at bed time in the vagina for relieve. Get urinalysis (C/S and R/E) done to detect UTI so that you can be accordingly treated.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
