What Causes Bad Breath Smells Like Urine In Infants?

my 1 mo old baby s breath smells like urine.he is breast fed and supplemented with soy based feed. he had projectile vomiting once last night and has been puking up. sometimes it comes through nose as well. he does not appear sick.what will cause this?

Hi,

Bad smell from mouth might be because of vomitus sticking in the mouth post puking. Normally newborn babies will have physiological GER (Bringing up digested food or stomach contents to mouth), which can also cause bad smell. It's not necessary to treat it, but if vomiting is frequent, then I would suggest you to keep the baby head up after feeds for 15 to 20 minutes and also burp the baby. Also can try a trial of domperidone after consulting with your pediatrician.
