What Causes Bad Breath While Suffering From Chronic Sinusitis?

Hi I have a problem with my breath @ 47 yrs old. It has becoming very bad lately. I have very bad sinus breath from my chronic sinusitus which Ive had all my life. My sinus have gotten worse as I get older. Now I have very bad post nasal drip. I hate it becuz I can feel itin the back of my throat. Its gross sometimes having mucus and other times thick clear congestion. I use good toothpaste, Arm & Hammer Fresh Mint. I use Listerine which Im goin to have to stop using that due to the alcohol content which DRIES my mouth out! Plus I use Zyrtec or ZyrtecD when I have a very bad cold. Please help me. Im starting to think I have naso (nasal sinus cavity) cancer. I live on LI, in NY.

Hi,

Post-nasal drip while having sinusitis could have caused bad breath. Along with the measures what you have been taking, kindly do the following.

1. Take steam inhalation twice daily.

2. Use chlorhexidine mouthwash solution and do mouthwash thrice daily.

3. Do saltwater gargling with warm water twice daily.

4. Brush your teeth using medicated toothpaste twice daily.

Gradually, you should be able to overcome the problem.
