Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My breath stinks and I don't know why. I go to the dentist every four months. They always say that my mouth looks great. They rule out cavities and gingivitis. I complain of my white tongue and they just tell me that they see that in some patients but that I should worry. Every morning I rinse my mouth with a non alcoholic mouth wash, followed by a tongue scraper. I then rinse my sinuses with a net pot. Afterwards I brush my teeth. Use another tongue scraper and follow that up with the rarest extra strength. Last I take a 30 billion count probuotic and allergy pill (been taking for 1.5 months). But for some reason it stills smells like I far when I speak. And everyone makes fun of me. I carry a tooth brush and mouthwash in my purse and rinse/ brush approximately 3-4 times a day. Sometimes I experience relief for a few hours but if the bad smell disappears it quickly returns.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain first of all I would like to tell you that white tongue is not normal finding and the most common cause of this is Yeast infection known as Thrush and this can be one cause of bad breath.. Other causes can be Sinusitis,, Tonsil stones, acid reflux, Diabetes, upper respiratory tract infection etc..
Nothing to worry consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and get a full body checkup done to rule out the exact underlying cause of bad breath..
As of now consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and in case of Thrush antifungal medicines like Nystatin mouthwash and clotrimazole lozenges can relieve.. Chew flavored sugar free chewing gum as it stimulate saliva flow and also mask bad breath.. Continue the remaining remedies that you are following..
Hope this information helps.
