What Causes Bad Metallic Odour To The Athlete S Body?
Hello, I am a 22 year old male. 5 9 150 athletic. I have had broken bones and mental disorders including depression and anxiety. I have noticed that every time i get out of the shower there is a horrible mettalic smell. I asked my roommate if he has noticed it and he says no. This is the third shower in a row where it has happened. It doesn t happen any other time. But now I am writing this I can still smell it in my nose.
If you are smelling bad metallic odor, take care of your hygiene. Some medications or addictions may manifest such side effects. Avoid addictions if any, consult your doctor if you are taking any such medication. However, medical conditions that cause smell disorders are URT infection, nasal polyps, sinus infections, dental problems. Get clinically examined by an ENT to detect the factor that is causing such symptoms. Since you have history of mental disorders including anxiety & depression you are suggested to consult a psychiatrist to rule out olfactory hallucination.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
