What Causes Bad Taste To Tongue While On Medications For Dementia?

My mom has dementia, they recently started her on a slew of medications: trazodone, namenda, divalproex, olanzipine, donepezil, zoloft. She has been taking them for two weeks. True she is calm, in fact she is almost comatose. Her tongue has a horrible taste, she is scrubbing it with a wash cloth. Her feet and hands or very swolled. 6 weeks ago she walked her dog every day, today she can barely get off the bed, she is so weak. I feel like something is wrong, but I have professionals telling me it is okay.

Hello
Welcome here.
I understand your concerns.
You have listed a number of medications which are not indicated for dementia.
Namenda and donepezil are given for dementia.
Zoloft and trazodone are antidepressants.
Olanzapine is an antipsychotic.
Divalproex is a mood stabiliser.
These drugs have specific indications and cause many side effects if given unnecessarily.
