What Causes Bad Vaginal Odor?

I had a tampon that was in me for about 4 days. I went to the doctor office and they removed it... After it being removed the doctor did some cultures so I m still waiting for the results. However I still have the odor coming from my vagina ... What can I do to get rid of the smell?

Hello,

The bad vaginal odor could be most likely due to infection and poor hygiene, however since I have not examined you, it is difficult for me to comment with certainty.

Since the examining doctor has taken cultures, i presume he is also suspecting infection.

In order to get rid of the smell, one has to tackle the infection with antibiotics appropriate for age and causative organism.

Are you having any vaginal discharge/fever/itching, etc? These are further clues that point towards infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
