Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
Sudden appearance of bald patch on scalp could be due to a condition called alopecia areata.
Alopecia areata is an autoimmune condition characterized by thinning of hair, weakening of hair, breakage of hair and sudden loss of hair over a certain patch on scalp.
This condition is treated with steroid ointment applied locally.
The response to treatment starts appearing in few days to weeks.
However, before starting any treatment, you need to consult a dermatologist for clinical assessment to ascertain that the hair loss is due to alopecia areata or due to some other problem.

Thanks and take care
