What Causes Behavioral Changes After Increasing Clenil Dosage In A Child?

Hi my four year old daugher has recently had a dose of Clenil doubled to 100mg x2 , twice daily. Since this she has been having behavioural problems at school, hitting out, refusing to d complete teacher request etc. is Clenil linked to behaviour or is this just a coincidence?

Hi,

Yes, Clenil does have side effects like sleeping problems, depression, nervousness, over excitation&irritability.

These side effects seem more in children. If you find these effects disturbing her schooling & learning, please consult her doctor for changing the dosage or the medication itself.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
