What Causes Belching And Stomach Pain Despite Taking Milk Of Magnesia?
I took Bydureon for 12 week, then off for 1 1/2 weeks due to being nauseated and vomiting. I saw my endocrinologist, continued the Bydureon. I took it the next day, the nausea and vomiting returned, then I had a severe pain on my right upper abdomen that radiated to the back. I also began belching rotten eggs smell and taste. I did not have a bowel movement since June 26. I drank some milk of magnesia X 2 days, however no results. (but I couldn t eat much) I finally had a BM, but now the foul belching/burping sick pain in my stomach has returned. After all this, my question is how long will it take for this Bydureon to get out of my system and is there anything I can take to make me feel better?

Hello,
* As per my surgical experience, the milk of magnesia is for propulsive movements of the bowel giving relief of constipation.
* The belching and stomach pain are related to the function of the stomach, gall bladder and other hormones controlling the upper digestive tract.
* Intake of proton pump inhibitor as omeprazole or pantoprazole on empty stomach, avoiding spices, non-veg, junk foods are the best initiative to handle this issue.
* Some of the cases do require an ultrasound of the abdomen & pelvis for further in-depth evaluation of the cause and management ahead. Do feel free to discuss further regarding the same.
