My husband is a healthy 39 year old. a couple of times a month while swallowing liquids he will suddenly feel like he needs to belch, and until he is able he feels that he is unable to get air. Sometimes this occurs with carbonated beverages, but can also occur while just drinking water. most recently when this occurred he felt as though he may pass out. This rarely occurs while eating usually just drinking.
