What Causes Bilateral Otitis Media?

What is the cause of serious acute otitis, bilateral. I was diagnosed with this illness last Thursday, November 19 although I have had the symptoms (pressure and unusual feeling in the ears and head) for over nine months. What can be done to cure and /or treat this problem?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have bilateral otitis media . i would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper examination without any delay , otherwise the infection will spread further to middle and inner ear and cause complications like tinnitus and vertigo . Doctor may examine with otoscope and order CT scan , throat swab test or viral culture test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin or gentamicin ) at least for 10 days , decongestants and anti inflammatory . Doctor may also prescribe corticosteroid ear drops. Doctor may also place tubes in ears . For now keep your ears dry and apply hot compresses to external ears .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
