Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had bilateral swollen parotid glands for two months. CT scan negative for tumor or stones. Blood work indicated high ANA levels just had SPEP test done. Dr. Told me if that comes back positive would need a biopsy. What kind of cancer could it be?
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query. The bilateral parotid gland swelling could be secondary to sjogrens syndrome. Since ANA has come positive get the minor salivary glandbiopsy done to confirm the diagnosis. Once tell diagnosis is confirmed we can treat accordingly. I hope I have answered your question. Take care
