What Causes Bite Look Alike Marks On Ankles And Calves In A TBI Patient?

My son is 23 with a TBI, he came home from a brain facility with tiny bite like marks around his sock and ankles and is slowly spreading up around his calves. He came home in Nov, and I thought they were ingrown hairs, and tried having him sleep with out socks on, but they just won t clear up?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is not related to brain injury. Most probably it will be an IV line or blood drawing mark. Nothing much to worry and it will heal by itself.

If there are signs of infection like redness or swelling, you can consult a general surgeon and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
