What Causes Black Colored Stools While On Chemotherapy And Iron Tablets?
I finished four sessions of chemo on May 13, 2015 for stage on e breast cancer. I had some black stools during treatment but no t all the time so I didn't report it . Now they are always black but I am taking iron supplements daily. Two 325 mg every morning.. I don't know if it s the chemo side effects or the iron.
hello user, i understand your concern . it is very common to have blackstools after taking iron supplements and the prescribing doctors usually inform patient about that , but just to be sure you can go for a stool - routine & microscopic examination that any blood or other abnormal subtance is present in it or not , that can be done at any nearby pathology lab . in any case do inform your treating physician about this concern of yours . hope i answered your query - if satisfied please rate the answer
