What Causes Black Discoloration Around The Grafted Skin?
i had to get a small skin graft on my finger due to a work incident. I m not supposed to go back to the doctor till thursday which will be a week. i took off my bandage and the small graft is now all black. how bad is this? he mentioned how it might not b successful but does it need to come off?
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. A skin graft that is black means there is no longer any blood going to that area. The graft is no longer viable. It should be removed. I hope your doctor is a plastic surgeon. Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be happy to help. Arnold Zedd, MD
