Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I have a question about my skin. I am Black and have what looks like small black dots on my legs (knee area) and elbows. This has been like this for many years. I did ask my dermatologist only to be told that this is just your skin. The dots almost look like blackheads but they are not. Is there a name for this and any treatment? Thank you!
The dots could be just hyper-pigmentation related to sunlight. In such case some whitening creams could be helpful. But, if they can be touched by hand (which means that they are not just changes in color of the skin), I would recommend using a body scrub and see if it helps.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
