What Causes Black/green Discharge From The Nipples?

hello--I am 44 years old-noticed black/green discharge from my left nipple. Had a mammogram and an ultrasound which showed a 7 mm lump around ? the ducts....I am now waiting for an MRI . How worried should I be? They were quite vague and I couldn't read the radiologist as to how serious this is......
