Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
There are four small, black spots in the center of the roof of my daughter's mouth. She is eleven months old. The spots almost appear to have a white center to them but I can't get a close enough look right now. Is this something I should be worried about?
I have gone through your query and can understand..
As per your complain black spots over the roof of mouth can be Oral Melanotic Macule which are hyperpigmented lesions due to excessive production of melanin pigment.. It is painless as well as harmless.. I would still you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he can do a clinical checkup as well as any investigations like Biopsy [if required] to confirm the cause.. In case if oral melanotic macule is the cause it generally does not need any treatment but in case if you want to get it removed surgical removal has to be done..
Understanding your concern. As per your query black spot on palate of mouth which could be apthous ulcers or canker sores, Cold sores, Allergic reaction to certain foods and it could be Tonsillitis. Need not to worry. Start with antibiotics like Azithromycin. Take combination of analgesic and anti inflammatory drugs. Avoid hot, spicy and sharp food. Take diet rich in vitamin C. Use anabel gel and mucopain gel to prevent pain and inflammation. Do warm saline gargles at-least 3 to 4 times a days. If your condition does not get resolved consult an oral physician once and get it examined and start treatment as per diagnosis. Apply dologel on soft mucosa s well for rapid healing.
