Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had inflamed tonsils with white puss pockets on them since last Wednesday. I went to urgent care and the Rapid Strep Test came back negative, but the physician still put me on a 10-day antibiotic. Yesterday I noticed a black spot on my tonsil what wasn't there before? What could this be?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a black spot on tonsil is commonly seen in case of tonsillitis or infection in tonsils.. It can also be due to lodgement of any foreign body or a small chunk of debris over the tonsil.. In either of the conditions you need not to worry as will gradually get resolved.. I would suggest you to continue taking the medication and do warm saline gargles.. Avoid spicy and chilled foods. Sip on plenty of warm water.. In case if still the symptoms worsen consult your treating physician and get evaluated and he can advise you proper treatment..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
