What Causes Black Spot On Tonsils Post Antibiotic Treatment For Tonsillitis?

18, 6 2, 12 stone. I have had bad tonsillitis for the past 4 days with my tonsils swollen and coated in white. I have been given antibiotics and been on them for the past 4 days also with little to no progress. I have now noticed that my tonsils have developed a black spot on them in addition to them being coated white. What is this and should I go back to my doctors?

Hi,

A swab test from tonsils can rule out infection! If you have pain, you must go back. AST is helpful in selecting antibiotics, if it is not working, at least do a full course of antibiotics also. These are immune related things! You need strong immunity.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
