Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, My son is 27 and suddenly he have black spot in his left inner cheek and on off some small bumps appears and vanish. he is a healthy man but in back home he used to go to dentist for his teeth braces but in Canda he refuse to use retainer.. is this cause for these black spot or some defficiency he have a defficiency of B12.
Understanding your concern. As per your query black spots on inner cheek could be due to frictional keratosis or hyperkeratosis which could be due to braces or sharp tooth. It could be due to melanosis. Vitamin B12 deficiency could be another cause for your condition. I would sugest you to visit dentist once and get coronoplasty or trimming of sharp cusps of mouth. Take multiviatmin tablets and diet rich in multivitamins. Go for lightening agents if it is due to melanosis. Maintain proper oral hygiene. Prevent any tooth brush injury as it will further increase your condition. Use antiseptic mouth wash. If it is painful use topical anesthetic agent. Drink plenty of water.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
