What Causes Black Spots In The Field Of Vision And Headache?

my 15 year old daughter is concerned that when she stands up, her vision will fade to black like a veil comes down or black spots in her vision field. then she will get a headache to the front of her head. she has an eye doctor visit next week anyway, but she wants me to check on it now.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

To me, you should check her blood pressure and sugar levels, and record the results for reference.

I think she is suffering from orthostatic hypotension and should determine why:

- any heart problems (consult with cardiologist)

- or just she is skipping meals because of not becoming fat, and getting hypoglycemia and hypotension. Discuss this further with her caring doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
