Hello,
Betnovate C effectively works but you have to apply it in the evening or before sleep & rinse it in the morning. Avoid exposure to the sun or use sunscreen.
Deficiency of vitamin B causes dark spots to appear. Take food rich in vitamin B6, B12 along with
folic acid & minerals like zinc &
magnesium.
You can use Retinol based creams, but SPF & retinol make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Avoid exposure to the sun if you are using these skin products.
Retinol will first cause dry or scaly patches so start with a drop or so & when you find it effective you may take a little more.
Skin issues take longer to show effect, be patient. Certain drug interactions &
food allergy also cause dark spots, be careful what food & medications you take.
If it's not working, you may get cosmetic procedures done like
laser treatment or
cryosurgery. There are other procedures also.
Consult a dermatologist.
In the meantime, take papayas, yogurt, buttermilk, coconut milk/water & plenty of water to help skin stay hydrated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
