Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy Friday, yesterday had black tarry stools, went to emergency room, after blood test they said that the blood count was lower but they told me to go home, and if I continue having tarry black stools today to go back to hospital. I still have black tarry stools what should I spect that they do in hospital today I d I go.
Blaçka stool is usually caused by hemorrhage is the upper intestinal tract, usually in the stomach. If the black stool continues, I suggest going to the emergency room for further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
