Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Suggestive of bleeding from the intestinal tract.

One of the common side effects of bismuth is black discoloration of the tongue and the stool which usually subside upon discontinuing the treatment.

Since you have black stool even after stopping liquid bismuth, the possibility of bleeding from the stomach or intestine must be ruled out after consulting your doctor.

Hope I could answer your query.
