What Causes Black Toenail And Numbness In Big Toes?
Hello, one of my toenails on my big toe has started to turn black and both big toes have numbness in them, I was wondering what could be causing this? I have not been diagnosed as diabetic or pre-diabetic but it does run in my family. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... The most common culprit for a black toenail is blood under the hard tissue. Damage to the end of the toe causes blood to leak through the nail bed and stain the keratin a dark color. Typically the problem develops from repeated trauma over time, for instance, continually bumping your toes against the front of your shoes. Sometimes, however, it can be the result of one sudden, traumatic injury to the foot, like kicking a solid object or dropping a heavy box on your toe. Other common cause is fungal infections which occur, if debris collects under the nail. Diabetic foot may start as numbness and darkening of toe. A malignant melanoma tumor can rarely develop under your nail, turning it dark. Which is deadly and should always be investigated.
You should do your blood glucose test and visit a doctor if problem persist
