What Causes Black Tooth Stains While On Aspirin?

Half of my tooth shattered three years ago but I haven't had the ability to go to a dentist about it cause its hard to find a job in my city. For the past two months I've had severe pain suddenly after I got food poisoning. I've been taking aspirin every day since to help me with the pain...but suddenly the aspirin (IbuprofenPM, Advil liquid gels, and recently Tylenol) stopped working...I looked at the tooth in the mirror and the entire inside of my tooth is black. I've been brushing but I am wondering if thats sign of an infection.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that broken piece of tooth along with inside of tooth appearing completely black is clear indication of infection..

Also the pain is so severe and does not subside on taking regular painkillers is an indication that the nerves present in the center of tooth are also exposed to infection leading to nerve irritation and inflammation leading to severe pain..

I would suggest you to consult a Dentist and get evaluated and he can advise an IOPAR ( x ray) for confirmation of the cause and treatment can be done accordingly.

In case if tooth can be saved you can be advised Root Canal treatment of tooth followed by antibiotics and painkillers..

In case if tooth can not be saved Extraction is advisable..

As of now you can take higher painkillers like TRAMADOL for relief..
Avoid chewing from painful side..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
