Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi, i had cholesteatoma surgery for my right ear twice 12-13 years back. all my bones and ear drum was removed in those surgery. recently my right ear had started drainage of black wax i went to consultant and was given antibiotics and ear drops and he made suction for black wax. it went for more then a month (weekly visits). every week doctor made suction of black wax. recently i done ct scan IAM and diagnosed Small tissue thickening near epy (cholesteatoma). need advice either to continue medicine or go for surgery.
As it is a cholesteatoma, there is a high chance of recurrence. Kindly consult with ENT surgeon and continue antibiotics advised by the surgeon. If you are recovering properly, kindly go for surgery to remove it. Kindly do regular suction till that and avoid ear-pricking. Do clean it regularly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale,
General & Family Physician
