What Causes Blackouts While Consuming Alcohol Long After Recovering From A Coma?
Hello Dr. My husband was in a 4 day coma years ago. He is 35 and has been drinking heavy for about 4 years. And now blocks out and is functional. Just wondering if the coma has anything to do with it or is he not supposed to drinks after the coma? Thanks for your time.
I understand your concern regarding your husband health condition.
Before running into final conclusions, I need to know the reason (cause) that put your husband into coma: - accident? - chronic disease ? - medications? - drug abuse?
Abusing in such a way with alcohol is not good for his health, particularly after being in coma.
I advise to approach him and try to explain the bad consequences of heavily drinking.
If you won't get success, I advise to get professional help by addiction specialist.
All the best!
