What Causes Bladder Spasms And Constant Urge To Urinate After Using Crystal Meth?
Hello, I ve been using crystal meth for 3 years both smoking and IV . I m in recovery. The last year, I noticed I was having bladder spasms as I wasn t able to control my urge to urinate. Also, I have been having weak bowel movements . The CT scan showed no harm done to my abdomen / intestines . I m seeing a urologist this month and I have an appointment with a doctor next month to discuss a possible colonoscopy procedure . I just wants know what s going on with my body?
Crystal meth can have a wide range of side effects. Meth has its effects by affecting our nervous system. Long term usage can affect nerves and bodily functions. Iv drug usage can lead to several infections. In your case, you must be most likely suffering from neurological side effects affecting your bladder and bowel. The definite treatment is complete deaddiction and cessation of meth under medical supervision.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Jeevan Jayakumar, General & Family Physician
