What Causes Bleeding Abscess On The Vagina Of An Elderly Person?
My 89 year old grandma has a clorox burn (red and bleeding) on her vagina from misuse in her rehab center (used 3-4 wipes). She has a intestinal bacterial infection and is on blood thinners. What can she do? The nurses act dumb and say they didn t see anything. They also rarely give her showers because of the laziness that they have.
If there is a history of poor hygiene then there may be a fungal rash contributing to the redness.
If this is the case then the use of an anti fungal powder would be appropriate. The powder would ensure that the area is dry, a steroid cream , if there is a lot of inflammation, may also be helpful. Eg of a steroid cream would be hydrocortisone, this would be over the counter
Cleaning the area with a mild antiseptic to prevent bacterial infection would also be helpful.
I hope this helps
