What Causes Bleeding After Having Unprotected Sex While On Birth Contol Pills?
I recently was put on birth control pills. I stopped taking them, and missed some. I was 4 days late for my period in May. I started the 28th of May. I have stopped for a little and then started again. I have had unprotected sex and every time I drop bleeding and have sex I start again. This has been going on for 18 days and I need help....
I suggest you to take a at home urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy as a possible cause of spotting. Once tested at home, consider seeing a general physician or GUM clinic to get examined. There are various causes of spotting after intercourse. However, most women in reproductive age group show spotting after intercourse due to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) or various sexually transmitted diseases like chlamydia. Unfortunately, unlike condoms the use of birth control pills offers no protection against sexually transmitted diseases.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
