What Causes Bleeding After Missing Dose Of Birth Control Pill?
I have been on birth control for about 9 months or more. I recently switched to a new brand which is very sensitive, or so it seems, because if I miss the pill by even a few hours I start to bleed. Two weeks ago I kept missing the pill over like 2 -3 times so I kept bleedinG for like a few days. Then I didn t get my period I was suppose to get on the sugar pill week. I don t think I m pregnant because I ve been on BC for so long, & I ve taken it 98% of the time correctly. I thought I just prematurely bled out all the blood that was meant for my period. help?
You should have mentioned which birth control pill you are on exactly, as some of them can cause a withdrawal bleed almost instantaneously. But then again, this also depends on your personal systemic response, hormone levels, and various other factors.
I do not think this is a cause for concern or that there is any abnormality of sorts; but I would although like to pay emphasis to your age which could be an added factor. You are at an age wherein you will be soon approaching menopause, and so hormonal fluctuations are normal and you may require some advise or attention from your doctor although this is nothing urgent and can wait until your next appointment.
Best wishes.
