Hello and welcome to HCM,
Insertion of intra-uterine
contraceptive devices (IUCDs) is often associated with side effects like abdominal cramping,
irregular menstruation etc.
These side effects occur after insertion of IUD and decrease with each cycle.
However, bleeding after sex may not be associated with IUD insertion.
Bleeding after sex is seen in conditions like cervical erosion,
cervicitis, cervical growth, vaginitis,
endometritis, endometrial growth etc.
Thus, clinical assessment of the genital tract is required to look for any abnormality in the genital tract.
If any abnormality is detected, it has to be managed accordingly.
Thanks and take care
