What Causes Bleeding And Burning Sensation In The Vagina?
On Monday 5 days ago. I went to restroom and noticed I was bleeding. It bled quite a bit and is not related to my period. I wiped and felt stinging pain. After looking closer I noticed a spot on my labia minora that was red and it had apparently opened. It burned when I urinated only that one trip to the restroom. A few hours later it didn t burn anymore and has not bled since. I have looked at it and the right side of my labia minora is slightly swollen and now that spot looks slightly purplish. Now it s 5 days later I don t really have any symptoms no pain no itching just the swollen side and a discoloration. I m not sure what to think of this. Please any advice is appreciated. Anxious and scared
The possibility of acute bacterial infection involving the labia minora either in form of inflammatory lesion of Bartholincyst or else.
Primary care with
- sitz bath of gentian violet
- local application of polymycin cream
- avoid vaginal intercourse (if active)
- maintain best genital hygiene.
