General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The break through bleeding is usually after completion of hormonal contraceptive dose or, after an unintentional break in taking pills. In case of break after completing the pills. You will not have periods at scheduled time. But if you had slipped few pills&restarted after a gap. Your period would get irregular.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
