What Causes Bleeding During Bowel Movement While Suffering From Constipation?
Hi Doctor. I am 29 years old. I have tend to have constipation often. 2 months before while I was travelling and heavily constipated I discovered fresh blood while I passed my stools. It felt like passing piece of glass. There was no pain and my constipation went away after that and I was feeling good. My constipation returned again in 2months and I felt strained while passing stool and incomplete. It was similar thing like passing glass. Since two days I am seeing fresh blood while passing stool. It does not pain but does not let stool pass easily. I have started taking laxative available in pharmacy store.
Hello and welcome to Healthcamagic. Well, constipation for itself may cause anal bleeding due to tear of rectal mucosa and irritation of anal canal during hard stool passage. However if there is significant bleeding there may be fissure, polyp or hemorrhoids present and you should do rectoscopy to rule this out. Some more serious diagnosis such as tumors should be ruled out as well but this is not first thing to think of. I hope I have answered your query. I wish you a nice day.
