Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi there, my husband has been having a problem whereby he bleeds when he ejaculates and directly afterwards he urinates a large amount of blood. Sometimes the blood is thick and clots block his urine. It is alot of blood, so much so that it looks like he s urinating just pure blood. This only happens after intercourse and not any other time. He said that he also feels a strange sensation in his Penistone just before he bleeds, almost as if he can feel it about to happen. He did have a vasectomy about 6 years ago, could this be something to do with that? This has only recently started happening, around 8 to 10 months ago. Do u have any idea why this is happening and what it could be?
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can. Most commonly this is caused by prostate infection or enlargement and you should check PSA levels and du ultrasound to rue this out, Other causes include urethral injury, uroinfection, urinary stones or epididimiits. It would be best to avoid intercourse till diagnosis is established.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health. DR. Ivan Rommstein
