What Causes Bleeding During Urination While Suffering From Interstitial Cystitis?
Hi I have been postmenopausal for 10 years. I also have interstitial cystitis. I exercise a lot and have never had bleeding up until a month ago. Only when I urinate there is a significant amount of blood. Not all the time. But at least a couple times a day. Went to IC doc specialist and she made light of it. Went to see a gynecoloist and she saw nothing. Recommended me to a urogynecologist. I feel crampy when I bleed. No one has recommended any tests as of yet. Ic doc thought maybe bladder bleeding. But not that much blood after having severe IC for 13 years. My appt isn t until March 16. I am really nervous as I have already had breast cancer 16 1/2 years ago.
Hi, I have gone through your question and undestand your concerns. Paineless hematuria in middle to old age people should not be taken lightly. ID specialist will look for infectious causes but I suggest you to have USG kub (kidney, ureter, bladder) ,urine r/e ,c/s,rfts and cystoscopy ( a procedure in which urologist looks into bladder via camera) and if find anything suspicious than can take biopsy of that lesion. If you are taking anti platelets like aspirin or anti coagulants like warfarin than you should stop it. Hope I have answered your question ,if you have any query feel free to ask. Wish you good health.
