What Causes Bleeding From Rectum?
Hi Im Sreeram from India. I had been suffering from bleeding from rectum every now and then, thrice at least in a year (from 2004 as far as I remember). Was being given antibiotics and probiotics. Would like to know whether this is a severe condition. I am currently 41 years of age.

Hi Sreeram, Thanks for posting in HCM.
Bleeding per rectum is mainly due to two reasons:
1. Piles or hemorrhoids.
2. Fissure in ano.
Precipitating factor in both is infection and constipation.
You need to get evaluated by Surgeon to know the cause.
Both the above conditions are treatable by means of Cryosurgery, which is only half a day procedure and can be done under local anaesthesia itself.
Kindly get evaluated and get treated accordingly.
