Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have bleeding in my eye. It looks like a pool of blood in my left lower eye. It started out looking like a simple eye bleed that many people get occasionally, but it has worsened significantly over the course of the day. Should I go to the emergency or can I wait to see my ophthalmologist tomorrow? Thank you Gail Holleran 512-238-7595
Bleeding of the eye is usually caused by suffering an injury to the eye. High blood pressure and taking certain medications that alter blood clotting mechanisms are other risk factors for subconjunctival hemorrhages. I think you should go to the emergency room to make some examinations or call your ophthalmologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
