What Causes Bleeding From The Right Ear While On Coumadin?

my husband is on cumadin and is bleeding from his right ear. It began a couple of hours ago. They have been trying to regulate the cumadin. He had to go off it for a procedure late last year and they are still trying to get his thickness between 2.5 and 3.5. Could this be the problem that it might be too thin and is there anything to do about it now?
