What Causes Bleeding In Between Periods And Constant Back Pain?

I'm 27 years old and I have a 6 year old son after a miscarriage and difficulty conceiving. For the past two months, I've had bleeding in between periods and constant back pain. I was given Naproxen for the pain but am still doing tests to figure out what's wrong with me. I was told that my white blood cell count is high and increasing. I am not sick, otherwise.
I was examined and told that my cervix appears to be damaged.
What can cause that to happen? Would it necessarily be an STI or HPV? Or could it be something else as well?
And does having a damaged cervix mean I cannot have any more children?
What could possibly be wrong with me as I have to wait about a week for the results to come in? I am really anxious and would like to know something. Thanks.
