What Causes Bleeding Post Intercourse While On Implanon Birth Control?
Hello. So I ve been on the implanon birth control implant for about 5 years now, and I ve always had bleeding problems. But lately I ve noticed that a lot of times I ll start bleeding either during or right after having sex.. I ve also noticed there s a different smell coming from down there. I haven t noticed any bumps or anything, but I ve got a weird feeling about bleeding afterwards every time and I ve been really tired all the time lately. I contacted a doctor about getting checked, but couldn t afford it at the time. So I m just kind of wondering what you think it could be, and if I need to go to a doctor right away.
It would be best to be seen by your doctor because physical examination is needed.
This would include abdominal and vaginal examination.
If you do not have a recent pap smear, one would be needed to assess the cervix. Infection would also have to be ruled out especially if you notice an odor. If an infection is present then antibiotics or anti fungals (depends on type of infection), would be needed.
I hope this helps
