What Causes Bleeding, Pus And Scabs In And Around The Navel?

I am a 38 year old male and just noticed bleeding and scab and pus coming from my belly button I also had this when I was 12 years old and it went away I am wondering if it could be a serious underlying cause I have been diagnosed with an inguinal hernia.

Hello and thank you for your question. This is probably not due to a serious condition. Sometimes there is moisture that builds up in the navel and then it may become infected. If you have a lot of redness you may need to be on an antibiotic so see a doctor. After it is cleared up make sure you keep the area as clean and dry as possible.
